[moon’s tail curls behind estinien’s legs, still not out of the habit of looking for a tail to hold]

I must see my world first and see my egg, but I will not keep you from your homeworld for too many days.

[ He puts an arm on Moon’s waist. ]

[ Pressing a kiss to his cheek. ]

[tugs him over the threshold and onto a sandy beach. the air is suddenly much warmer, but cooling as the sky fades into night. before them is the ocean and behind them is a stand of palms and tropical foliage. further behind that, the great pearl dome of his palace rears towards a rising moon.]

[ He is suddenly glad that he has his hair up, and not wearing any armor. ]

Moon lets go of Estinien and splashes barefooted into the shallows. TOUCHING! HIS! OCEAN!]

I am! I feel like a veil has been lifted from me! I feel my tides and my gravity! I hear the stars!

I am. I am in a safe, comfortable, dark place. I am curled up in my own coils, and I have my tail over my snout... If I listen, I can hear my father and my brother singing. Sometimes one of my sisters calls too.
